MCMC versus enumeration: uniform distribution, ten packets. The histograms of all possible distortion based on both MCMC and enumeration are collected. The probability distributions are obtained by dividing each histogram by the total number of samples generated by MCMC and enumeration, respectively. Comparing both curves shows that the MCMC method indeed draws samples from the mapped distribution.
