Effect of opportunistic forwarding on the VANET performance. In terms of CAM PSR, best results are achieved for a Tmax value of 200 ms and a value of 1. However, this results in a relatively large DENM delay. This configuration is called the aggressive approach. When configuring a Tmax value of 75 ms and an a value of 2, CAM PSR profit is still significant, and the DENM delay is clearly lower. This is called the balanced approach. (a) CAM PSR values for opportunistic forwarding. (b) DENM delay values for opportunistic forwarding.
