Simulated average spatial correlation and Eigenvalues. Average spatial correlation between the two MIMO channels (top) and average Eigenvalues of the 2 × 2 MIMO channel matrices (bottom) as a function of MT azimuth direction inside a 120° sector. Averaging was performed over the frequency sub-bands covering ten RBs with lowest BER. The simulation consisted of 121 angular MT positions with 40 radio frames in each of them. It was carried out with fixed SNR of 24 dB in ITU Pedestrian B radio channel environment. Spatial multiplexing in beam domain benefits from lower MIMO channel correlation and larger Eigenvalues of the MIMO channel matrix.
