Average travel time versus prediction/control interval Ï„ among (a) rerouted vehicles and (b) non-rerouted vehicles. Both rerouted and non-rerouted vehicles are benefited from traffic prediction, as the average travel time for both categories of vehicles is much shorter under predictive route guidance than that under reactive route guidance. However, non-rerouted vehicles could enjoy more benefit than rerouted ones.
